Ludis Analytics secures $2 million in funding

We are thrilled to announce that we have secured $2 million in funding.

Leading the round is Raptor Group, a preeminent investment group offering deep operating and strategic expertise in the sports and media space, along with Translink, Black Mountain Ventures, IgniteXL Ventures, Hustle Fund, and multiple elite athletes.

The company’s funding round follows successful partnerships with leading basketball, rugby, cricket, AFL, and netball teams across Australia, Japan, and the US. It will enable the company to accelerate hiring and advance product development to expand into further sports globally and additional market verticals.

Ludis Analytics is an end-to-end data science platform that helps accelerate analytics across organizations, starting with the sports industry.

Ludis provides teams with a single collaborative environment for all data science functions, including access to reliable data sources and the most commonly needed analyses and algorithms, feeding into easy-to-use applications and visualizations. These immediately useful and usable out-of-the-box data science tools enable team staff - from coaches to analysts and management - to focus on advancing their competitive advantages and developing winning strategies.

CEO Vala Dormiani co-founded Ludis Analytics in 2019, inspired by his passion for sport and expertise in developing data science solutions for specialist industries.

“We’re thrilled to have received support from the Raptor Group and other prominent investors,” said Dormiani. “The funding will allow us to accelerate our engineering efforts and expand our footprint in sports while also growing our customer base in other industries.”

COO Bo Nam and CRO Anthony Musumeci round out the Ludis leadership - an exceptionally capable team of founders with deep experience across product management and venture capital, including multiple exits.

“We’re delighted to be early investors in Ludis as we believe this is a huge, underserved space in the sports market,” said Paul Santinelli at Raptor Group. “The sports industry has been collecting data for years, but there is currently no sports-specific platform to aggregate data from a myriad of sources and enable a business intelligence system out of the box. The Ludis management team have recognized the issue that fan engagement, sponsor activation and athlete performance data have always been looked at in silos which has limited the ability for sports executives to make educated decisions using their data. The Ludis platform aims to fix that for sports organizations globally.”
